I typically run in non-GUI mode. Is there a way to checkout the license without get getting into the GUI. Now that I was able to checkout a license in the GUI does it save this setting somewhere that I could check?

In v4 software, these commands will check in/out licenses, etc: 'runenv license checkOut / checkIn / server / ...'

In v3 software, the commands didn't exist but there is another way to control the license. In the file $HOME/.insight/settings/InsightAnalyzer.config, there is a section named "[License]". In that section, there are flags indicating whether a certain feature should be checked out when starting. After you run the GUI mode and select licenses, you'll find this file is updated. You can also edit the file manually to have the desired effect of checking out licenses on startup.
